BREAKING: Sen. Tom Cotton Exposes Plot Against Trump

Opponents of President Donald Trump have been on a multi-year crusade to discredit his campaign and presidency, and they haven’t been afraid to play dirty while doing so. One of their dirtiest tactics was the publication of the now notorious Trump Dossier, a salacious document containing a number of questionable claims.
Despite much of the intelligence community dismissing the dossier, there are still some fierce Trump critics who insist it is credible. But Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton is not one of them — he sees “no reason” to give the dossier any credibility.

“You can’t give any credibility to it”

Speaking at an event hosted by the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank, Cotton provided his thoughts on the dossier. He concluded that it lacks credibility and even speculated it was potentially financed by a Democratic supporter of Hillary Clinton or by Russia’s intelligence services.

Cotton told the audience:
I think you can’t give any credibility to it at this point, certainly not until we answer those questions, nor have I seen any reason to do so.
The senator also alluded to new developments that involve Fusion GPS, an opposition research firm that was reportedly hired to investigate then-candidate Trump. Cotton noted that two of the group’s founders “pleaded the Fifth” to avoid identifying their clients. He also pointed out that Fusion GPS is trying to block a subpoena sent by the House Intelligence Committee to investigate its bank records.
Ultimately, Cotton believes that Fusion is trying to stonewall the probe because its clients may be Democratic political operatives or a Russian intelligence service.
Cotton also questions the credibility of the dossier’s sources.

He told the right-wing think tank:
So for all our knowledge, we’re dealing with sources and sub-sources whose identities we don’t know, and for that matter who were being paid to provide salacious information, or if they are officers of Russian intelligence who were tasked to provide that information.

What was inside the Trump dossier?

Earlier this year, BuzzFeed published the now notorious Trump dossier. The dossier made a number of dubious accusations: Trump is being blackmailed by Russia, Trump was cultivated, supported and assisted by the Kremlin for five years, and even that Trump hired prostitutes to perform sex acts for him
